Letters to LIFE
(reprinted with permission)
Jerry, Ontario, June 2006

I have lived on disability for over 30 years and supported my spouse who was disabled most of her life. When I turned 65 I was informed that due to not working those 30 years even though disabled, my Canada Pension would be lower. Upon inquiry I found my spouse didn't qualify at all. In January my spouse passed away and to my surprise I did not qualify for widows pension and that my total income including a WCB check means that I must exist in $1300.00 a month. This is our golden years. When I pay all my commitments I am left with less than $100.00 a month to feed myself or buy clothes or special equipment required due to age and old injuries. I have advocated a guaranteed Income all my life writing to parliament to no avail.

I believe that the thought of every one in the world having guaranteed income is not a large job if the free world got off thier butts.

The only chance in hell of this happening is that first the government must retake the responsibility for the money of this country: printing and distribution of all money. An example: a new bridge is required. The government prints the currency to pay for the structure, then decides the cost should be carried for 30 years but the bridge should be paid off in 15 years. Then for the next 15 years the amount required to pay off the debt would be taken out of circulation so that at the end of those years the total money printed would be out of circulation and not one penny interest would be owed tp the money lords.

The next thing is we would require a political party whose sole purpose of a guaranteed income for the country and the world. This party would require a binding contract that they would begin guaranteed income within 6 months or call another election. The other way is to set an amount as guaranteed income say $20000.00 then run enough independents so they would run the government or hold the balance of power thereby any party elected would know that to stay in power they would have to pass a guaranteed income bill or be toppled.

Can you imagine the people having control of government instead of the power jerks we have had for so many years.
